I'm working on the process doc, and I have most of the pictures I'm going to use for it. But I don't know what to write... also, it's shorter than the last semester's one. I used fewer images in the books I'm making for the show, than I did in last semester's process work. For example, since I'm not using images of the birds, snakes, bears, etc. from last year I figured it wouldn't make sense to include them in the process book for this semester. But I don't know what to include in terms of text... I don't know how to explain my process work more than it was explained last semester. i think some feedback would help :)

We review work in progress and, at 9:45, will join a Google Hangouts presentation by Mary Ellen Lepionka on Beverly’s Indigenous People

Mary Ellen Lepionka of Gloucester is an independent scholar researching the history of Cape Ann from the last Ice Age to around 1700 for a book on the subject. Some chapters have been published at capeannhistory.org

On Tuesday 10 November, we watched and discussed a video presentation by designer/artist Kristen Mallia, whose Memory Device installation was in the 301 “Frame” window. That presentation (and some explanatory text and images) can be found at https://www.montserrat.edu/portfolio-item/kristen-mallia/

She talked a lot about process, documentation, obsession, collecting, writing — the importance of accumulation of material for use now and for one's “future self”. It’s a great talk.
